Denmark International: Final of the VICTOR player H.-K. Vittinghus & Kai Schäfer

After strong performances Kai Schäfer (SC Union Lüdinghausen) made his way in the final of the  LI-NING Denmark Challenge 2019 and met Hans-Kristian Vittinghus on Sunday.

After wins against Austrian national player Luka Wraber (1st BC Saarbrücken-Bischmisheim / with 14-21, 21-11, 21-19) and the Indian Lakshya Sen (round of 16 / with 12-21, 21-15 and 21-19) in the quarter-finals, Kai Schäfer met the third seeded Danes Rasmus Gemke and prevailed with 21-19, 14-21 and 21-17.

In the semi-finals, the 25-year-old scored a clear triumph over Lucas Claerbout (21-14, 21-14) and had to face Danish National player Hans-Kristian Vittinghus in the final on Sunday at Farum Arena. Hence the DBV athlete had to play Vittinghus for the third time in his career and had to admit defeat for the third time, but Kai looks back with pride on a successful week.

We congratulate Hans-Kristian (Gold) and Kai (Runner Up) for an exciting, high-performance tournament!
