Denmark Open 2017 - success all along the line

The Danisa Denmark Open 2017 - presented by VICTOR - took place last week from
17.10 - 23.10.2017 in Odense, DK.

It is the first Super Series tournament of this dimension for VICTOR in Europe. Many VICTOR players from Asia as well as from Europe were present and made this event to a big show. VICTOR did not only provide all the equipment; there was also a team of professional stringers next to the court as well as a large brand area and an extensive sales booth. Next to the countless rackets that were strung throughout the tournament, many
children's hearts were delighted during the daily autograph sessions when every fan could receive a very personal memory of this event and his star.

In almost every discipline, VICTOR's players were set as favourites in the tournament,
and most of the time they did just that. The No. 1 in the world Tai Tzu-Ying played her first tournament after her shoulder injury at the Japan Open in September. It was obvious that her game was not yet back on a familiar level, but her smart playing style made up for this handicap. In the end, Tai Tzu-Ying finished with a bronze medal in the semi-finals after three exciting and hard-fought sets against the later winner from Thailand, Ratchanok INTANON.

Son Wan Ho, No. 2 in the world, also won the bronze medal in the men's singles.

The Mixed as well as the Men’s Doubles had a hard time, but the Mixed Duo from Malaysia, Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai, showed an impressive performance throughout whole the week. In the end, they reached the semifinals of a Super Series tournament for the first time in their young career.

At the end of the final day, it was the newly-formed Women’s Double Le So Hee and Shin Seung Chan that won the trophy. They had already played together in their youth, but were reunited just before the tournament in Odense. On the way to the title, they beat three seeded teams and won their last game
in well earned two sets.

It was a great week for all badminton lovers and we look forward to next year!
