Tai Tzu Ying new World No. 1
It is official now: The Taiwanese Tai Tzu Ying, fully equipped by VICTOR, is now leading the worldranking in the women's singles.
By the win of the SUNRISE Hong Kong Open she got the final points to stay on top of the December 2016 released worldranking.
One of the main reasons for this success was certainly the victory against the favorite of the tournament and previous world no.1 Carolina Marin in the quarter final.
Tai Tzu Ying beat the gold medal winner from Spain with 21-17 14-21 21-16.
She then won straight in two games against Pusarla v. Sindhu from India in the final, who was also in the final of the Olympic Games in Rio winning silver.
Now Ying can be happy about the title in Hong Kong and about the very exciting title "World No. 1".
She is the first Taiwanese player who ever could get to the top of the womens singles ranking.
We congratulate Tai Tzu Ying for this success and are looking forward to her next titles in the future!
